IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING THE LANDING OF VEHICLES:
The Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, by decree of 05.14.12 concerning the limitations influx and road traffic in the islands, prohibits the months of most intense tourist movement, the flow and circulation on the islands of the municipality of Lipari , vehicles that are not in the islands, according to the following schedule:
From June 16 to October 31 ban on the islands of Panarea and Stromboli;
from 1 July to 31 October ban on the island of Alicudi;
from 1 July to 30 September ban on the islands of Lipari, Vulcano and Salina Filicudi

Derogations from this decree to vehicles, mopeds and motorcycles to caravans and motor homes belonging to people who demonstrate that they are in possession of booking at least 7 (seven) days in hotel,B&B or private home.

- Messina - the railway station is 1 km far from the port (where you can take Ustica Lines hydrofoils). If you don't succeed in catching a hydrofoil, you need to go by bus (Giuntabus) to Milazzo (the bus stop is in front of port).

- Naples - the recommended railway station to get to the ferry is Piazza Garibaldi station, while the closest railway station to the hydrofoil port is Mergellina station.
